In 2006, Ryan Alons said that he had enough of the simple country lifestyle and departed from the family farm in rural North Carolina for the urban sprawl of New York City. It was a long and arduous journey with many detours. Along the way he weathered the frozen winters of Grand Rapids while working for the Student Activities Office of Calvin College. Then he spent some time off the coast of Cape Cod working with artists such as Talain Rayne and musicians from Light House and the Whaler.
After four years, Alons realized that even though the scenery had changed from green fields to brick buildings, he was still a farmer's boy at heart and wrangling musicians was not all that different from wrangling tractors.
