Born in Seattle, Washington and now residing in New York, K Ishibashi studied film scoring and orchestral composition, an education he married with a love for the 70s orchestral/synth fusion of artists such as Giorgio Moroder and YMO to create a prodigious amalgamation of these influences and the best of current and past pop. And yet, his music inhabits a space beyond pop music, cinematic, enigmatic, complex, and unique. Primarily a violinist, Ishibashi has honed his craft through years of working as a player, arranger, and performer with artists such as Regina Spektor, of Montreal, and Sondre Lerche, while also fronting the NY synth dance pop band Jupiter One. His debut solo EP is the product of an exploration of all that he has acquired as channeled into focussed and deliberate songwriting. Having played on and arranged for of Montreal's "False Priest" and the as yet unreleased follow up, Ishibashi has become an integral part of the oM live band. Currently on tour with of Montreal, he will set out next on an extensive North American solo tour to promote the release of "Room for Dream" opening for Sondre Lerche and of Montreal.
